The Searchers (1956) John Wayne, Jeffrey Hunter. Vera Miles, Natalie Wood, Ward Bond. Great western from John Ford, with spectacular cinematography. On my 55 inch TV Monument Valley is amazing. I guess thousands of people made the trip to see it for themselves after seeing this film. Story of an Indian attack and kidnappng of the youngest child, killing the rest of the family, and decade and longer search for her. By the last Ethan [Wayne) is meaning to kill the girl because she has been living with the bucks of the tribe. But her "brother" Martin is dead set on getting her home alive. My favorite charecter is Mose (Hank Worden) who just wants a 'rocking chair by the fire' after years of being mistreated by all comers because he is a bit simple. But he fools the Indiams and he makes Ethan promise him before he will tell what he knows of Debbies whereabouts. Way to go Mose! 10/10 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049730/
