Day Of Reckoning (1933) Madge Evans, Richard Dix, Una Merkel, Stuart Erwin. Interesting pre-code film that has a grasping, luxury loving woman who takes her husband to ruin by embezzling from his firm. Off to prison he goes and wifey is immediately given help by 'friend' and soon they are living together. Through all the trouble, the housemaid/nanny (Mercle) takes care of hearth and home and the kids.
